Cooperation proposal

The company is specialised in designing and providing technology for specialised vessels. They are interested in Finnish and European partners for building boats in Finland for the Finnish and EU market.

Offering

The company designs and provides technology for boats and they can supply the design and technical data package to a partner shipyard in Finland for construction. In particular, the partnership would focus on hydrofoil supported catamaran vessels in aluminium and/or composite materials. These are specialized vessels offering a number of advantages over conventional vessels:

• Up to 40% high speed
• 30% fuel savings
• Better crew comfort
• Low wake wash (wave energy and wave height)

This type of vessel is currently not used in Finland and in very limited numbers in the EU and there is an opportunity to introduce them for defence, security and commercial applications. The design will be worked out according to the requirements of one of the International Classification Society standards (e.g. BV, DNV-GL or Lloyds) and according to Finnish Maritime Administration Requirements. It will therefore meet the normal standards applied in Finland for such vessels.

Markets and customers

The customers so far have been shipyards and boat builders and the company has done projects in many parts of the world including Europe (e.g. Norway and the Netherlands).
