Cooperation proposal

Guranse Tea Estate and its sister company Mai Tea are seeking Finnish importers, wholesalers, and distributors for organic, orthodox Nepalese teas. They also welcome partnerships for the promotion of Nepali-grown herbs, spices, and dried fruits, and are open to collaboration on future tea-based skincare products.

Offering

Guranse Tea Estate is a family-owned producer of high-elevation, organic orthodox teas, located in Hile, Dhankuta in eastern Nepal. The estate spans 230 acres at altitudes between 3,300 and 7,600 feet, is women led and currently employ over 95% women.

The product range includes loose-leaf black, green, white, oolong, gold, and red teas as well as specialty teas (seasonal and limited batches). The tea is available in bulk, retail-ready formats are under development.

The sister company Mai Tea was founded in 2001 to support smallholder tea farmers in the Ilam by improving local infrastructure and market access. Today, Mai Tea works with over 200 small farmers and is EU Organic certified by CERES.

The company can also facilitate the sourcing and export of Nepali herbs, spices, and dried fruits (e.g. lemongrass, ginger, turmeric). These are not certified organic, but are grown using organic practices.

Markets and customers

The current markets include Germany, USA, Canada, Japan, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Australia, India, Sweden, Italy, and China amongst others.

The company is looking for partners in Finland for:

• Import and distribution of organic Nepalese teas
• Collaboration on herbs, spices, and botanicals
• Joint development of tea-based skincare products
