Matchmaking event brought together over 60 organisations from Uganda and Finland
Market opportunities in Uganda were the focus of events organised by Finnpartnership and Partnering for Change (PARC) project in December. The Uganda Forum, held in Helsinki on 5 December, brought together companies and NGOs to share information on investment opportunities and for example the needs of the energy sector in Uganda. Participants also had the opportunity to hear practical examples of sustainable business practices in Uganda. Recording of the event is available here.
As a follow-up to the Forum discussions, Finnpartnership and PARC organised a virtual Matchmaking event on 12 December. The event allowed Finnish and Ugandan companies and organisations to organise one-to-one meetings with each other and present their offerings. The event provided an opportunity for companies to meet new business partners and discuss joint projects.
The Matchmaking event focused specifically on five sectors: coffee and tea, construction, education, energy, and services. The event was attended by more than 60 participants from Uganda and Finland, and several business-to-business meetings were organised during the event.
Participants of the event can further explore the companies’ offerings through the event website and contact suitable business partners, whose contact details can be found on the website. Organisations from Uganda, who are looking for Finnish partners, can also be in contact with Finnpartnership’s Regional Coordinator in Nairobi, Elizabeth Okunda elizabeth.okunda@finnpartnership.fi, if they need any further support.
