A private sector Call for Proposals for digital social innovations will open in June as part of the Data Governance in Africa Initiative. The aim of the Call for Proposals is to accelerate growth by supporting the adoption of data-driven products and services in African countries.

The call is open to individual organisations and consortia looking to expand their operations. Applicants must be registered operators in Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia or Botswana.

The innovations eligible for the call may relate to areas such as e-health, climate change or connectivity. The product or service developed should help bridge digital disparities, such as urban/rural, gender, and youth divides.

10 innovations will be selected from the pool of applicants, who will be offered training on funding, support in setting up business partners and networks, etc. For more information on the call, please see here or contact Shirin Namiq, Digital Social Innovation Expert,

The call is part of the Team Europe initiative, which Finland is promoting in cooperation with Estonia and Belgium. In Finland, HAUS is responsible for the management of the initiative.
