EU business forums open new opportunities in Botswana and Mozambique

04.07.2023

The European Union (EU) actively supports the private sector in developing markets. To promote cooperation between the EU member states and developing markets, the EU is organising a series of business forums with African countries this autumn.

The events will provide an opportunity for Finnish companies to initiate and develop business activities in the target countries and to take part in the EU-supported projects. Last spring, Finnpartnership participated in the EU, Kenya and Tanzania business forums, where Finnish companies also had the opportunity to present their activities in various panels.

The EU-Botswana Business Forum will take place in Gaborone on 11-12 October 2023, bringing together investors and financial institutions, businesses, policy makers and chambers of commerce. The forum will focus on sectors such as health, digitalisation and renewable energy. The Business Forum will coincide with the Global Expo Botswana. Registration for the event will open soon, you can find more information here.

An EU-Mozambique Investment Forum is also planned for the end of November in Maputo, zooming in on projects and investments supported by the EU’s Global Gateway strategy. The Forum will focus particularly on digitalisation, renewable energy, agriculture, blue economy, transport and tourism. Registration for the event will open in September.

Finnpartnership supports Finnish companies in their efforts to get involved in EU projects and investments. Through the Global Gateway campaign, we aim to build a tailor-made path for companies to access business opportunities in the target countries. Finnpartnership encourages companies to participate in the Business Forums and seize the opportunities the events will open. If you are interested in participating in the Forums, please contact: julian.blom@finnpartnership.fi.
