The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Vietnam is seeking to collaborate with Finnpartnership in order to support agrifood systems transformation in Viet Nam. Collaboration between sectors, partners, and geographies is paramount to address complex challenges involved in agrifood systems.

Through the proposed collaboration, FAO would mobilize a wide range of approaches, technologies and practices that can contribute to the transformation of agrifood systems. These range from technologies such as forest fire early warning systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, real-time monitoring and reporting, and biogas production from wastewater treatment, among others.

FAO is willing to engage with the private sector in FAO’s initiatives to work towards more long-term sustainable solutions. FAO envisions the private sector engagements will bring strategic partnerships and scale up collective multi-stakeholder efforts. Moreover they bring country-owned and country-led innovative solutions to help Viet Nam in accelerating agrifood systems transformation.

Finnpartnership encourages Finnish companies with relevant solutions to reach out to Trang Nguyen (trang.nguyen@finnpartnership.fi) for potential collaboration with FAO Vietnam. Finnpartnership offers Business Partnership Support to Finnish companies and organisations for piloting with an ODA eligible international organisation, such as FAO. The financial grant can be granted for a pilot or demonstration project related to technology or innovation implemented as part of an organisation’s operations. The funding amount is EUR 15,000-400,000. For projects in Vietnam, Finnpartnership can cover 50 or 75 percent of the approved project costs depending on the applicant company size.

FAO, together with multiple stakeholders and in close consultation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), is supporting the Government’s efforts for the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems in Viet Nam.
