Join the Doing Business with Finland seminar in Morocco
Finnpartnership, together with Business Finland in Morocco and the Embassy of Finland in Morocco, as well as the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM) are organising a B2B seminar in Casablanca for Finnish and Moroccan companies and organisations. CGEM, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, is the official representative of the private sector to the public authorities with over 100,000 direct and affiliated members.
The seminar takes place on 20 February 2025 and the focus sectors include water, health and digitalisation. Morocco is poised for a vibrant economic future and to become a regional leader in sustained growth. In this regard, water, health and digitalisation are all recognised as some of the key sectors by the Moroccan Government.
Water scarcity forms a significant challenge for Morocco, driving the demand for innovations and sustainable management practices for its water resources. Finnish cutting-edge solutions and expertise in water can greatly enhance Morocco’s water supply. Demand can be identified for solutions such as:
- Water reuse
- Monitoring and treatment of freshwater and wastewater
- Smart metering
- Desalination
- Innovations in agriculture
Reforms and strategic investments in the healthcare sector include large-scale infrastructure upgrades, a digitalisation transition, as well as enhancing human resources. Skills, expertise, and innovations across the sector are in demand presenting clear opportunities for Finnish solution providers. The health reform programme by the Moroccan government builds on four pillars:
- Effective governance: Improving the management and regulatory framework of the health system
- Human resources development: Enhancing quality and availability of health professionals
- Healthcare infrastructure improvement: Upgrading facilities and expanding health services
- Digitalisation: Integrating technology to improve health delivery and management
The national digital transformation strategy, Digital Morocco 2030, has a clear goal: to digitise the country. The project will receive funding of more than 1.1 billion dollars, envisaged to ensure a leap in electronic and digital development allowing Morocco to reposition itself as a global digital hub. The strategy plans to strengthen areas such as:
- Digital infrastructure and solutions
- Technical skills of young people
- Support for start-ups in the digital sphere
