The Rwanda Business Forum, organised by Finnpartnership in cooperation with the Rwandan Embassy to the Nordic Countries, the Finnish Rwandan community and Hills Connect Oy, a company promoting business between Finland and Africa, brought together more than 100 Finnish and Rwandan organisations from the education, healthcare and IT sectors to discuss business opportunities and meet new partners. The event took place at the Redi Shopping Centre in Helsinki on 14 September.

Finnpartnership presented at the event its services, Business Partnership Support grant funding and Matchmaking. Additionally, Finnpartnership shared about the Regional Teachers’ Initiative for Africa, a project of the Global Gateway campaign promoted by Finnpartnership, which is looking for Finnish teacher education representatives. Finland was also represented by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Business Finland’s Developing Markets Platform and the organisations Block Solutions Oy, GoFore Oyj and Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulu Oy, representing the themes of the seminar.

The Rwandan delegation included Rwanda’s Minister of State for Education, Hon. Claudette Irene, and organisations mainly from the education, health, IT and mining sectors. At the event, Rwanda Development Board shared about the business opportunities in Rwanda. The participants also learned about the services of Hills Connect Oy, how it supports Finnish companies in promoting business in Rwanda, and the banking solutions offered by SPENN and I&M Bank.

Finnpartnership was also present at the stand throughout the day, where discussions were lively. The event, which was very well received, is a strong continuation for the ongoing collaboration between Finnish and Rwandan organisations.
