Record-breaking amount of financial grants and increased number of projects in Ukraine – see Finnpartnership’s results of 2024

For the Finnpartnership programme, 2024 was a year of success. Interest in Business Partnership Support was unprecedented, and the amount of granted funding was the highest in the history of the programme. A significant proportion of Finnish companies’ projects targeted Ukraine.

In 2024, a record €11.9 million of Business Partnership Support was granted to Finnish companies and organisations, up 74 percent from the previous year. In fact, the average size of companies’ projects has increased every year during the past programme period. Last year, the projects that received funding targeted 18 different sectors, the most popular being education, construction and health.

The interest of Finnish companies in Ukraine increased further in 2024, with a third of the applications received by Finnpartnership directed to Ukraine. This reflects the strong interest of Finnish operators in supporting and rebuilding Ukraine. The construction and IT sectors received most financial grants, together accounting for almost 40 percent of applications directed to Ukraine.

Finnpartnership’s Global Gateway campaign also exceeded its targets and was made a permanent part of the programme’s services from 2025 onwards. The aim of the campaign was to enable 15 Finnish companies to get involved in EU procurement and investment in 2023-2024 through the help of Business Partnership Support.

During 2024, awareness of Finnpartnership’s services increased widely across sectors, including large companies. Key figures for 2024:

• Finnpartnership received 142 Business Partnership Support applications. The number of applications increased by 23 percent compared to the previous year
• A total of 88 Finnish companies and organisations received the financial grants
• Ukraine, India and Kenya were the most popular target countries
• Projects directed to Ukraine received 45 percent of all funding
