Plan International in Vietnam is looking for partnerships with Finnish companies

Plan International Vietnam is seeking opportunities for collaboration with Finnish companies in three areas: inclusive social services, disaster and climate resilience, and economic empowerment. Concrete collaboration ideas include for example:

Inclusive social services:

• Promote youth-led initiatives for the prevention of adolescent pregnancies and child early and forced marriage
• Improve the quality of sexual and reproductive health services for adolescents
• Improve quality and accessibility of essential services to support vulnerable women and girls who experienced various forms of violence
• Promote the use of digital and technology innovations for child protection, including online protection
• Support sport spaces for promoting mental health of children and youth
• Improve the quality of comprehensive sexual education for adolescents and youth in ethnic minority communities in Vietnam

Climate and disaster resilience:

• Promote the participation of children and youth, especially girls and young women, in developing local action plans for climate change adaption and disaster risk reduction
• Promote peer-based learning on disaster risk and resilience for children and youth so they can be active agents of change in their communities, initiating sustainable practices and natural resources conservation
• Improve capacity of local authorities in disaster-prone communities to initiate anticipatory actions to natural hazards and climate risks
• Enable communities to measure local climate resilience and integrate local long-term solutions

Economic empowerment:

• Improve nutrition education and agricultural STEM for students through the promotion of organic school farms
• Promote employability skills through sports
• Provide training on AI-related skills for technical and vocational education and training students
• Promote nature-based solutions in agriculture
• Provide water management technologies in agriculture and aquaculture
• Support ethnic minority women entrepreneurs with the production of handicrafts using natural materials and promote market linkage
• Support cold-water fisheries in mountainous areas and promote market linkage
• Promote community based eco-agriculture tourism in rural and mountainous areas

All the projects of Plan International Vietnam prioritise gender transformation and safeguarding. The organisation has operated in Vietnam since 1993, working in the most vulnerable areas with the target groups of children, adolescents and youth, particularly girls, from economically and socially vulnerable groups, aged 0-30 years, such as ethnic minorities, LQBTQI+, people living with disabilities, victims of gender-based violence including CEFM and domestic migrant workers, especially young women, seeking employment in urban areas.
