Connecting Finnish and Zambian organisations during the World Circular Economy Forum
The World Circular Economy Forum, WCEF2023, organised by Sitra and its partners in Helsinki on 30 May – 2 June 2023, once again brought together circular economy experts and decision makers from around the world to discuss current circular economy solutions. As part of the week, the AGS program (Accelerated Growth for SMEs in Zambia) organised a delegation trip to Finland consisting of Zambian circular economy companies. In connection with this, Finnpartnership offered Finnish companies an opportunity to meet the Zambian organisations.
The Zambian delegation consisted of 15 organisations specialised in circular economy solutions, including plastic, textile, paper and oil recycling as well as solar energy, wood processing, waste water and bio-waste solutions. In addition, there were manufacturers of soaps and essential oils, a circular economy consulting company, and a company that uses energy waste as biofuel (as raw materials e.g. military butterfly oil and other waste products such as animal manure).
Several Finnish companies were interested in meeting the Zambian companies. One of these was Block Solutions Oy which manufactures affordable, durable and easy-to-build residential buildings.
Finnpartnership thanks the AGS program for the great collaboration as well as the Zambian and Finnish organisations for participating in the event.
