Finnish Business Council West Africa joins EBCAM
The European Business Council for Africa (EBCAM) welcomed in February its first Finnish member. The Finnish Business Council West Africa (FBC West Africa), representing FinnCham Africa, was officially welcomed at EBCAM’s General Assembly on 16-17 February in Paris. Finnpartnership’s Global Gateway Project Lead Julian Blom took part in the meeting, representing the FBC West Africa.
EBCAM brings together European investors and other operators engaged in economic activity in Africa and supports cooperation between the European and African private sector. It is the only organisation that comprehensively represents the range of business activities undertaken in Africa by European companies, from agriculture and mining to for example transport and the service sectors.
During the two-day meeting, the participants discussed the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, the war in Ukraine, the implications of the energy crisis, and global actions to tackle climate change. Additionally, digital transformation trends in Africa was among the key topics. The next General Assembly will be held in Stockholm on 21-22 June 2023.
