Explore the market opportunities of Jubaland!
Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, Minister of Planning, Investment, and International Cooperation in Jubaland, located in southwestern Somalia, is visiting Finland and would like to revive cooperation between Finnish and Somali companies.
Come and meet Minister Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed and experts working at the interface between Finnish and Somali businesses on 23 April 2026 at 10-12 at the Finnpartnership office in Helsinki (Porkkalankatu 22A). The event offers an opportunity to network and learn about Somalia as a business environment. Held in an informal setting, you can come with a clear strategy or just to discuss the market potential of your product or service in Somalia.
The interest in Somalia’s market peaked in 2018–2020, encouraged by Finland’s Africa strategy, when Finnpartnership supported 22 Finnish companies’ projects in Somalia. Today, there are several Finnish companies operating in Somalia in the construction, education, security, and healthcare sectors, as well as a Finnish heart clinic and a solar power plant.
Not all of the projects aimed at Somalia took off, of course, but they performed better than average. A common denominator among the successful projects was often the involvement of people of Somali origin, either locally or in Finland.
