World Vision Timor-Leste seeks Finnish climate, digital and sustainable development solutions
World Vision Timor-Leste is looking to establish strategic partnerships with Finnish companies to respond to development challenges in rural and hard-to-reach communities.
The international organisation is interested to jointly develop concepts, pilots, and investment models with Finnish companies. World Vision invites companies to collaborate and develop solutions in the following areas:
- Digital transformation and inclusive connectivity: Digital systems and approaches that strengthen education (including ICT for education and digital learning), health communication, information access, and community engagement across schools, health facilities, and community institutions, including use of GIS in ecosystem management
- Environmental sustainability and climate action: Low-emission and climate-resilient approaches that strengthen schools, health facilities, and community systems, while supporting environmental protection, livelihoods, and climate finance readiness.
- Clean energy, energy efficiency and enabling infrastructure: Sustainable and reliable energy solutions for schools, health facilities, and other community infrastructure that enable education, health services, digital connectivity, and service continuity in rural areas.
- Nature based solutions: Forestry with sustainable finance/green investment mechanisms, such as Gold Standard carbon credit generation, watershed management, ecosystem restoration, biodiversity protection, research & monitoring, environmental safeguards, spatial and land-use planning, and landscape restoration.
- Disaster risk reduction and community preparedness: Community-led and institution-based solutions that enhance disaster preparedness and protect essential education and health services during climate and emergency shocks, including anticipatory action mechanisms, community-based disaster risk management, early warning systems, risk assessments, and preparedness planning.
- Health system resilience and preparedness: System-level approaches to strengthen the readiness and resilience of primary health facilities and community-based health systems in climate-vulnerable and rural settings, including digital health solutions that support service delivery, data systems and community health worker programmes.
- Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH): Water supply systems, sanitation infrastructure, hygiene promotion, and safe management of sanitation and wastewater systems for schools, health facilities and communities.
- Agriculture and economic development: climate-smart agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, market-linked value chains, cooperative development, financial inclusion and entrepreneurship for rural households, including high-value crops and economic opportunities for women and youth.
