SDG Booster workshop on Ukraine and housing sector under development

07.12.2023

Birgit Nevala, Programme Director of Finnpartnership, attended the ReBuild Ukraine event in Warsaw on 14–15 November together with a Finnish delegation. The delegation, led by Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio, included more than 50 Finnish companies from various sectors.

During the event, Finnpartnership provided information to the Finnish participants about its services and met several local organisations interested in cooperation with Finnish companies. With Finnpartnership’s Business Partnership Support, a Finnish company can start preparing and planning a project with local partners, even if it is not yet sensible to travel to the target country. The financial grant covers 85 % of the project costs for Finnish SMEs in projects in Ukraine.

During the event, Finnpartnership also met with the Mayor of Trostianets in Sumy Region, Yuriy Bova, and Julia Skripka from the Dutch foundation Opendoor Ukraine, with whom Finnpartnership had preliminary discussions about organising an SDG Booster workshop next year. The event would possibly focus on private housing and water management. A set of two virtual workshops would present local needs and bring together Ukrainian authorities and businesses with Finnish companies.

A possible SDG Booster workshop will be announced in Finnpartnership’s newsletters in early 2024. If you work in the construction or water sector and are interested in Ukraine, let us know your preliminary interest by sharing your contact details: ville.jokinen@finnpartnership.fi, and you will be automatically informed as the event progresses.
