21.02.2023

On 9 February, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Embassy of Finland in Hanoi, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, organised a workshop about Public Investment Facility funding (PIF) in Hanoi. The purpose of the workshop was to introduce the PIF funding instrument and to discuss the application of Finland’s PIF in Vietnam. PIF aims to contribute to the sustainable development of partner countries while applying globally leading Finnish technology and know-how. The workshop was attended by different participants from Vietnamese government, Finnish and Vietnamese companies, and provincial government. During the discussions, the participants highlighted positive experiences related to PIF funding.

Finnpartnership’s Regional Coordinator for Asia, Tam Nguyen presented Finnpartnership and introduced the possibility for Finnish companies to apply for Finnpartnership’s Business Partnership Support funding to advance their PIF projects. Business Partnership Support can be granted for feasibility studies as well as environmental and social assessments for PIF projects that have received a favourable statement from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The deadline to submit the proposal for a new PIF project concept is 24 March 2023. More information can be found on the Ministry’s website.
