The second SDG Booster workshop on promoting partnerships between Finnish and Vietnamese organisations in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) took place on 16 January, building on the momentum generated during the first workshop in November. The virtual workshop brought together nearly 100 participants and was organised in collaboration with Finland’s Embassy in Vietnam, Vietnam Association for Vocational Education and Training & Social Work (VAVET), Finnish National Agency for Education, EduCluster Finland, and Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

The workshop dived deeper into concrete collaboration initiatives such as teacher training, joint programmes, internship opportunities for Vietnamese students, and skills development in the context of green transition. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about Finnpartnership’s and GGGI’s financial instruments for projects, adding a practical dimension to the discussions.

Some Vietnamese and Finnish organisations have already found partners and established connections through the workshops. Finnpartnership is actively supporting these connections by facilitating the ongoing discussions and by having a continuous dialogue with VAVET, providing insights for Finnish companies looking to engage in the TVET sector. Additionally, Finnish companies can benefit from Finnpartnership’s financial grant, Business Partnership Support. For projects in Vietnam, the amount of support is 75% for SMEs and 50% for large companies of the project’s approved costs.

Finnpartnership encourages participants in both workshops to directly contact potential partners. Organisations interested in any of the opportunities identified in both sessions can visit the Miro board to mark their interests and if needed, contact Finnpartnership to connect with relevant partners.
