Project abstractWakapou Benin is a company specialized in the harvest, transformation, storing and export of organic crude shea butter for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and edible oils and fats industries. Wakapou’s farming operations take place in Northern Benin and the company has organic certificates from ECOCERT. The company is currently looking for a Finnish partner to (1) further expand their sales in Europe (distributor, importer, agent, representative) or (2) to invest in Africa and scale up the business.

Project descriptionWakapou Benin, established in 2017, is based in Cotonou, Benin and currently employs 50 persons.

The company’s main products are shea almonds and butter that are premium quality, responsibly sourced and organic. According to the company they follow fair trade rules in their business operations and they are aiming to become the preferred supplier in their target markets via environmentally friendly and sustainable products. For their business partners the company can offer supply-chain without intermediaries.

The customers of the company have so far been oil & fats processors in Europe and cosmetic firms in Europe and USA.

The company is currently looking for trade intermediary from Finland to expand their business to European markets. Wakapou is also interested in finding investors.
