Somali Seafood Products Company (SSPC) is a privately registered seafood product cooperative, owned by Fishery business groups.The cooperative was established in 2005 and it coordinates over 20 sizable fishing companies, the shareholders have many years of hands on experience in the seafood industry. The company was formed as a direct response to the need for trusted, reliable and dependable provider of fish and other seafood products in Somalia. Its mission is to sensibly harvest, source and add value to Somalia’s marine resources in a way that meets the expectations of company's members, suppliers, investors, and stakeholders. The company is currently busy with obtaining the HACCP certification which will enable to export fish products globally. The company is also busy increasing its production and storage capacity substantially. After the planned expansion SSPC will become the biggest seafood production company in Somalia.
Currently company exports products to Turkey, Jordan and UAE and expects to expand its market to Europe and US.
The company is searching business partners from Finland to both technical and business wise and to joint venture, export support and partnering etc. Company's main fish products are groupers, snappers, seabreams, Emperors, Tuna, kingfish, lobsters, shrimps, rays, Mackerel, Sea Turtle, Gotfishes, grunts, Lizardfishes.
