Project description

The company, established in 1999 is based in Tunis, Tunisia and currently employs 92 persons. AMAL is implemented in Tunisia & Algeria with some punctual activities in Libya.

The company’s main services include the following kind of industrial & petroleum waste management and environmental services:

- Collect, transport, store, treat and dispose wastes
- Cleaning storage units and equipment
- Rehabilitation of polluted sites
- HSE Consultancy & Advise

The customers so far have been mainly oil companies and industrial groups (textile, mechanics, chemical). The company has collaborated e.g. in cleaning up sites/installation in Libya, petroleum waste management in Algeria and both in consultancy & advice and export of hazardous waste in France.

The company is currently looking for a partner for a simple technical partnership, joint venture, or capital cession according to the appropriate context. SMRI AMAL would export mainly hazardous waste for Finland/EU. This waste cannot be treated locally and must be incinerated in appropriate facility. The available estimated volume in Tunisia are around 200,000 T per year. 25% of it can be potentially collected and exported.
