Project descriptionThe company, established in 1854 is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka and currently employs 1650 persons.

The company’s main products include Infrastructure development, construction and other projects including roads, toll roads, medium sized housing and shopping complexes. The company is considered as the market leader in providing pilings for large buildings. Its engineering division has worked on cement plants for Holcim, large prefabricated structures, large oil storage tanks, mid-sized power projects etc.

The customers so far have been from the major infrastructure, environment, power projects in Sri Lanka and Maldives. The company has also worked with multinationals like Holcim for the construction of their cement plants in Lanka, the Tata Group and many others.

The company is currently looking for a partner to Provide Engineering, Procurement, Design, project management and construction services for large sized infrastructure projects including housing, power projects, major highways, railways, major bridges over waterways and lagoons. etc. in the South Asian region. It also seeks a tie up for large sea reclamation projects and building of new housing estates and townships on reclaimed land. Further it would like to look at being able to provide essential services to these estates and townships in terms of water, waste water, waste handling etc.

In the recent past the large sized Infrastructure construction projects have mainly been handled by Chinese companies. With the changed political environment Sri Lanka is increasingly looking towards European companies to partner with Lankan companies to provide these services.
