Project abstractMayan Vanilla, a Mexican company specialized in growing and supplying Mexican vanilla for export is searching for buyers to sell gourmet vanilla beans to Finnish retail market.

Project descriptionMayan Vanilla, established in 2017 based in Yucatan, Merida, Mexico currently employs 10 persons.

The company operates in growing, harvesting, packing and distribution of Mexican vanilla beans. They export specific kinds of premium quality vanilla beans to clients such as restaurants, bakeries, coffee and tea houses and ice cream parlous. They also have smaller vanilla beans for extraction and industrial use of e.g. food and beverage manufacturing industries, cosmetics and soap. The products are BRC and Kosher certified. The company now also offers organic vanilla with certification from ImoCert, valid in the EU.

The customers so far have been from the USA and Europe. The company has also taken part in trade shows in Europe. There is a Mexico-EU Free Trade Agreement in place which has made it easier to export to EU area and preferential access granted for Mexican vanilla.

Mayan Vanilla is currently looking for buying partners to get their vanilla beans to Finnish retail shops. Buying the vanilla beans directly from the company would allow better price margins for the Finnish business partner.
