Project descriptionCommscloud Africa, established in 2011 is based in Cape Town and currently employs 11 persons.
The company is a South African IoT Service Provider (connectivity management) for both the enterprise and IoT businesses, utilising GSM connectivity, aiming to become an aggregator of solutions and services required to deliver effective IoT. Their services include Tried and tested approach to IoT Services including problem definition, designing a unique solution, project managing to implementation, training, bridging legacy MNO systems with new IoT designed solutions. The company has an understanding of the local South African and African ICT landscape, with strong domain expertise in the current team.
The customers so far have been IoT vendors in South Africa, Botswana, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, Zambia, Tanzania. CommsCloud has strategic supplier relationships in South Africa / distribution agreements with Mobile Network Operators (MNO’s).
Commscloud Africa is searching for Finnish partners for a new expansion to Africa / South America / Latin America and the expected input from the Finnish partner would be to build unique digital solutions that differentiate Commscloud Africa as a IoT Service Provider. The partnership / new business venture searched is one where we partner with a technology partner, to build unique digital solutions that differentiate CA as a IoT Service Provider. The technology partner should have a strong track record in systems integration in the digital economy and preferably be familiar with the GSM environs. Items such as software development, business analysis and online portals should be key competencies. Commscloud Africa currently funds all their growth organically, and sell their IoT solutions and services on a subscription basis.
The different phases of proposed cooperation ( a simple project timeline) would be:
Phase 1: Scope, design and prioritize solution and services.
Phase 2a: Code & Implement integration platform to service providers
Phase 2b: Complete larger scoping / design
Phase 3: Build and test
Phase 4: Implement
Phase 5: Go-to-Market. Depending on the scope and design, this could take anything between 1 and 2 years.
