New services for international growth from Business Finland

Business Finland assists companies in entering the international markets by offering expertise, contacts and funding. New products include Talent Explorer for hiring an expert to assist in internationalization and Group Explorer for a group of SMEs to seek assistance in joint internationalization projects.

The Explorer product family to support the internationalization of companies

The target of the redesign efforts is to gather a product family of support methods for the internationalization of companies under one Explorer brand. The product family will still include the previous functional products for companies. In the new product family, the Trade Fair grant is now called Exhibition Explorer and the new name of Explorer will be Market Explorer. New funding products include Talent Explorer and Group Explorer.

With the use of Talent Explorer, a company can hire an expert with competence in the new export market. Business Finland’s maximum amount of funding is EUR 20,000 and it covers at maximum 50% of the costs of the expert to be hired.

Group Explorer is perfect for situations where the extent of opportunities in export markets is such that demand cannot be met by a single company. At minimum, a group of four SMEs can use the funding for acquiring external services, for example, to conduct market research or create shared business models.

Redesigned services for export and internationalization

A Finnish company can receive support from Business Finland when preparing for internationalization, entering new markets and seeking growth and renewal for its business in existing markets.

Coaching is a new service which assists client companies in identifying, prioritizing and resolving challenges concerning international growth. Business Finland’s international network, including 40 offices worldwide with 120 experts, assists clients in resolving these challenges identified together.

The expanded Soft Landing network offers a more risk-free and faster way of assessing the potential of a new market. Business can be built via the network’s offices, if one does not want to establish a company locally. The service providers will also offer support in making operations more efficient and constructing a more permanent presence. Business Finland’s network has offices in Asia and the United States and some of the locations are managed together with Nordic Innovation House.
