Save the Date: Join us at the Namibia Mining Expo week in late August 2023!

Mining Finland, Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), the Embassy of Finland in Windhoek, and Finnpartnership, in collaboration with Chamber of Mines of Namibia wish to invite Finnish mining and supporting companies to the Namibia Mining Expo in August 2023.

The Mining Expo will take place on 30-31 August in Windhoek, bringing together the key stakeholders of the sector as well as international companies. Mining Finland, GTK, Finnpartnership and the Embassy will provide a pavilion for Finnish companies at the exhibition and will in addition organise site visits to selected promising mines during the same week, prior to the Expo. Additional programme for Finnish participants is also under planning, thus if interested, make sure to book the entire week of 28 August to make most of your visit.

In addition to mining companies, Namibia’s mining sector provides versatile opportunities for companies specialised in e.g., water, energy, ICT, and technology. Finnish expertise is sought especially in sustainable and digital mining solutions, mineral extraction and processing as well as wastewater and water supply solutions. Namibia is also interested in developing the training of mining professionals in collaboration with Finnish organisations. Additionally, the European Union is concluding a strategic partnership with Namibia on sustainable raw materials, aiming to increase partnerships between the Namibian and European mining sectors and to drive the green and digital transformations. This opens new opportunities also for Finnish companies to potentially get involved in EU-supported projects. Through the Global Gateway campaign, Finnpartnership supports Finnish companies in accessing the new business opportunities.
