Indonesia is on a challenging journey to provide free, nutritious meals to 80 million school-aged children through its national school meal program. This initiative presents a unique chance for Finnish companies to step in and offer solutions to various technical challenges identified during the implementation phase.

During the event, WFP Indonesia will delve into the specific challenges related to food security, monitoring, logistics, supply chains, and the need for digital tools. As part of Indonesia’s national food programme, several key challenges demand innovative, tech-driven solutions:

Real-Time Monitoring: Current systems lack real-time insights. Integrated dashboards and mobile tools are needed for better tracking and decision-making.

Food Safety Risks: Rising food poisoning cases reveal gaps across the supply chain. Solutions like IoT, AI, robotics, and smart packaging are needed for real-time detection, monitoring, and prevention.

Supply Chain Mismatch: Feeding 83 million daily is hindered by supply-demand imbalances. Digital platforms and forecasting tools can boost efficiency and reduce waste.

Training at Scale: With 48,000+ staff, training lags behind. Scalable digital learning platforms are essential for consistent quality and safety.

During the webinar, Business Tampere and Finnpartnership will also present their services and funding models that are ideal for project work in question.

This event will also provide companies with an opportunity to present their solutions and expertise for overcoming the project challenges. After the webinar, 1-on-1 pitch meetings with WFP will be organized for interested companies in August.
