Business partners and visibility in Ghana and Benin – seize our Doing Business with Finland seminars in Accra and Cotonou!

3.1.2019

Join Finnpartnership’s Doing Business with Finland seminars in February and start expanding your business to West Africa’s Ghana and Benin! Arranged together with local Finnish embassy and Finnpartnership’s local partners, the seminars provide an excellent opportunity for Finnish companies to get their business activities started in Western Africa. The seminar brings together a large group of relevant local companies, business entities and government officials to meet Finnish companies. Arranged since 2007, the Doing Business with Finland seminars usually lead to dozens of promising business discussions and partnerships getting started.

The seminar in Accra, Ghana will be held on Tuesday, 26th February and seminar in Cotounou, Benin will be held on Thursday, 28th of February.

The Doing Business with Finland seminar in Accra will focus on the following sectors: education, agribusiness and ICT. In the Exporting to Nordic countries part of the seminar, the seminar will focus on the following sectors: interior design, cacao and natural cosmetics. Finnpartnership’s local partner from Ghana will identify local companies from the same sectors that will be invited to the seminars.

The Doing Business with Finland seminar in Cotonou will focus on the following sectors: education, forestry and agribusiness, including ICT solutions in these sectors. In the Exporting to Nordic countries part of the seminar, the seminar will focus on the following sectors: tourism, nuts and tropical fruits. Finnpartnership’s local partner from Benin has identified local companies from the same sectors that will be invited to the seminars.

In Benin the Finnish companies from the education sector will also have the chance to meet with the authorities of Benin in charge of technical and vocational training. The time and place for this meeting will be announced closer to the event.

Finnish companies are warmly welcome to join us in this trip.  Sign up to the seminars by 13 February by sending an e-mail to Finnpartnership’s Senni Muiniekka, Senni.Muiniekka@finnpartnership.fi or Kaisa Arkkila, kaisa.arkkila@finnpartnership.fi.  Kindly note that this is not a delegation trip, and participants are expected to make their own travel and other arrangements (including visa – kindly note that it can take a few weeks to get a visa). The trip can be part of a broader commercial project aimed at Ghana or Benin, in which case you can apply for Finnpartnership’s Business Partnership Support to cover some of the travel expenses.

If you cannot attend the seminar but wish to be introduced to local companies and organizations, you can send two PowerPoint slides to Finnpartnership. Send the slides by 13th of February. Finnpartnership can represent a maximum of 20 companies in both seminars. We will present your company/organization at the seminar and open the discussions with interested local companies. The slides should include:

1) Picture of the product or an illustrative picture of the service and a short introduction.

2) Name of the company and contact information (a webpage is not enough)

3) A definition of what kind of business partner the company/organization is looking for.

More information about the seminar concept can be found here.

Send the slides (In English) to Senni Muiniekka, senni.Muiniekka@finnpartnership.fi, or to Kaisa Arkkila, kaisa.arkkila@finnpartnership.fi. You can also bring printed slides to our office, Finnpartnership c/o Finnfund, Uudenmaankatu 16 B, 00121, Helsinki. The announced deadline is absolute, as Finnpartnership will have the slides printed as a two-sided brochure. This way, an equal service can be offered to all companies presented. The purpose of any shared slide is to get a relevant business contact in return.
