Finnpartnership together with Lagos Chamber of Commerce organized a Doing Business with Finland seminar in Lagos on 25th of November – the event brought together Finnish and Nigerian companies that are looking to find cooperation possibilities in education and circular economy sectors

Finnpartnership together with Lagos Chamber of Commerce organized a Doing Business with Finland seminar in Lagos on 25th of November with the aim to bring together Nigerian and Finnish companies that are looking forward to cooperating in the sectors of education and circular economy. Moreover, the event was targeted for Nigerian companies that are looking to export their products from Nigeria to Finland and to the European Union.

The seminar gathered an audience of around 100 interested participants and it was organized in a hybrid format. There were three companies from Finland represented on place in Lagos and then 15 Finnish companies participated the seminar online via Teams. Many distinguished speakers also were present in the seminar, such as Commissioner for Education of Lagos state, Hon. Folasade Adefisayo, the Head of Lagos Waste Management Authority Ms Adeola Akinsola, representatives from the organizing partner Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Honorary Consul of Finland Mr Bankole Oloruntoba.

The model for Finnpartnership’s Doing Business with seminar was as usual, the seminar presented a practical forum for companies to meet each other and the marketing materials including Finnish companies offering and their interests regarding search of business partners from Nigeria were presented and shared with the audience. After the very informative opening speeches regarding the seminar’s sectors current developments in Nigeria, Finnish companies both on the place in Lagos and online could pitch their offering for the local live audience.

In the later part of seminar, the discussions were continued in smaller groups according to the interests of each participant, the small-group discussions were facilitated by Finnpartnership staff around the themes of circular economy, education, and exports from Nigeria to Finland. The small-group working format gave the opportunity to get to know the interests of the local companies better, Nigerian companies were given detailed instructions on how to get registered to Finnpartnership’s Matchmaking service and how to get started with exports of different products. The cherry on top of the event was the joint lunch after the official agenda of the seminar had ended.
